Instrument

Students are expected to practice weekly on an acoustic or electric/digital piano. Acoustic pianos should ideally be tuned twice a year.  Electric pianos should have 88 full-sized, weighted keys. Students should also have a proper bench and music stand.

Missed Classes

Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance; slots are reserved throughout the year, whether the student attends classes or not. No tuition credits or make-up classes are given. Assignments will be updated in the student’s Practice Space account. Students can send videos and audio recordings to be  reviewed in between classes. Students are expected to stay current with their assignments. 

Out of respect to others, please do not bring your child(ren) to the studio if they display any signs of illness, including coughing, sneezing, sore throat, vomiting, nausea, fever, rashes or diarrhea.

Role Of The Parent

When learning to play an instrument, parental support is crucial.  It is important to take time to listen to your child play, and to celebrate accomplishments. Learning piano is a 3-way effort involving the student, the parent, and the teacher. Parents are expected to help their child establish a practice routine.

Communication

The teacher will communicate with parents on a regular basis. Parents are expected to communicate via text or email with the teacher as well. Parents may join the Facebook studio families group where the teacher will post announcements, reminders, birthdays, practice incentives, videos and pictures.

Tuition

Tuition can be paid by cash, check to Mountain View Piano Studio, Venmo or Zelle. A late fee of $15 will be added if tuition is not paid by the due date, indicated on the invoice.

Terms will only be prorated when new students join the studio. Refunds or tuition credits will not be given to students who withdraw before the term ends. 

Refer a friend and receive $50 credit if they enroll!
